The Reactions were a Cleveland, Ohio garage rock, jangle pop, and power pop trio active in the mid-1980s. The band released one full-length album on Homestead Records and a series of singles through the Cleveland imprint St. Valentine Records.

History

The Reactions formed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1983, consisting of guitarist Chuck Wagner, bassist Brian McCafferty, and drummer Dave Swanson. The group became associated with the city’s independent rock circuit and performed throughout the local club scene during the early to mid-1980s.

In 1985 the band released its debut single, issued by St. Valentine Records, followed by an additional single the following year. Their only studio album, Cracked Marbles—released by Homestead Records in 1986—captured their blend of garage-influenced guitar work, melodic jangle textures, and power pop structure. After the album’s release and regional activity, the group disbanded later in 1986.
