Home and Garden was an American experimental/post-punk band from Cleveland, Ohio, formed in the early 1980s by members and alumni of the regional scene. Their work blended punk energy with experimental rock, synthesizer textures, tape loops and free-form structure.

History

The band emerged in Cleveland in the aftermath of several local bands dissolving, and featured members who had been active in that region’s avant-rock and punk communities. The group’s only full-length album, History and Geography (1984), is considered a cult classic among listeners of the U.S. post-punk underground. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1} The record was recorded circa 1982 and released in 1984 on Exit Stencil Recordings. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2} Although the band did not achieve broad commercial success, their experimental approach and membership links to other important regional acts have earned them a lasting legacy in Ohio’s underground rock history.
