Template:000 - BandWild Giraffes is an American band from Cleveland, Ohio.
History
Like Mentor High grads of an earlier decade, The Choir and the Raspberries, this Lake County five-piece (1975-1984) stood out from their contemporaries by embracing catchy, '60s guitar pop. With a clean cut image to match their hook-laden songwriting, Wild Giraffes packed the local clubs by bridging the gap between punk and rock audiences. They could just as easily play with the Pagans as Wild Horses. Releasing four singles and an LP on Neck Records (also the imprint for the Pagans' first 45, "Six and Change"), the band was played on WMMS. By 1984, after a couple of near-misses at landing a record contract (and a shift towards a more modern rock sound), the band broke up.
