The Adults Cleveland, Ohio.

History

After a stint in Raven Slaughter, guitarist/vocalist Paul Michaels formed the Adults, a driving punkish three-piece, in 1979. After numerous lineup changes, Michaels brought in novice bassist Crystal Gray, providing a perfect avenue for his off-kilter man-woman songs. The early '80s brought  the most stable Adults line-up and a devoted local following, resulting in the funky sax-laden 1984 LP Ladies and Gentlemen... The Adults, which features a cameo by King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew. Continuing through more lineups (Gray being a recent departure), Michaels & Co. released Playing a Kids Game in '96.
