Idiot Humans was an American punk band from Cleveland, Ohio.

History

Cleveland’s Idiot Humans existed from 1983 through 1985, played many shows (with the likes of GBH, Toxic Reasons, Subhumans, MIA, B.G.K, Adrenalin, MDC, etc...) and became one of the area’s favorite local punk rock acts. Besides a few obscure comp appearances, the Idiot Humans never had an official release during their too-brief existence. The 3 tracks included on this 7” were recorded in 1984 and display a Brit political-punk influence, not unlike Amebix and Rudimentary Peni, along with an art/horror-punk background akin to much of Cleveland hardcore of the time.

After the demise of Idiot Humans, bassist Kevin Reis later joined the Laughing Hyenas and brother/guitarist Bob Reis joined The Guns (Cleveland’s greatest hardcore band, hands down, CD on Grand Theft Audio), then moved to Seattle and joined RC5 who produced a number of releases on Junk Records. Tony Taylor and Jeff Pell were found later in the company of Chris Andrews in the highly under-rated Shadow of Fear.
